Ilana Hirschfeld, Communications Assistant

Ilana Hirschfeld is the Communications Assistant at the Environmental Solutions Initiative. She came to ESI as a co-op from Northeastern University, where she is a master’s student in Environmental Science and Policy. Before beginning at ESI, she worked at Eaton Vance as the Income Group Administration and ESG Research co-op, and prior to that she collaborated with researchers at Northeastern’s Marine Science Center in the Muñoz Paleoclimate Lab.

Ilana was born and raised in San Diego, California. She has spent the past 15 years playing the violin in symphonic orchestras, both in San Diego and in Boston. For the past three years, she has been active member and leader at Northeastern University’s Hillel; in the 2019-2020 school year she was the concertmaster of the Northeastern University Symphony Orchestra; and in the Fall of 2020, she was a fellow for the Northeastern University chapter of Effective Altruism.
