A MITASC story contributed by Katharina Kramer
MITASC member Katharina Kramer spent the summer working on a three-person team to develop an idea to measure forests’ ability to sequester CO2 using drones, video, and AI technology. Their idea was promising enough to win funding from MIT’s IDEAS challenge and coding support from Microsoft’s AI for Earth program. The next challenge was going from a good idea to a business model. Katharina sent us this video reflection on the problems – in research, development, and finding the right market niche – that face a new environmental startup.
This public reflection was produced as part of the work of the MIT Action Sustainability Corps. Learn more about MITASC here.
