The ESI Plastics and the Environment Program (ESI-PEP) was launched in January 2018, with a mission to foster the technologies and public policies necessary to eliminate the harmful build-up of plastic waste in the environment. ESI-PEP unites faculty and students at MIT with a broad network of supporting members and partner institutions, sponsoring research, convening experts, and developing new educational opportunities to bring all our resources to bear on the problem of plastic accumulation in the natural world. Download the ESI-PEP brochure for more information.
